ATHENS SAILING ACADEMY TEACHES YOU HOW TO SAIL IN GREECE

**Athens Sailing Academy** is an English-speaking sailing school in Greece, specializing in sailing instruction and sailing school holidays. As the oldest ASA (American Sailing Association) sailing school in Europe, we have been operating since our founding in 2005. Our teaching takes place in the Saronic Gulf and the Cyclades Islands, both of which offer excellent sailing conditions. The weather can vary, ranging from a gentle force 3 to a more exhilarating force 6, but sea and wave conditions are generally calm and not often rough. The region enjoys abundant sunshine, with water temperatures remaining warm during mid-summer, making the use of fleece and wet weather gear unnecessary. We explore typically Greek and unspoiled islands and ports, where you’ll encounter many interesting characters. You will discover numerous deserted coves and bays that are rarely visited by other yachts.

**SAILING SCHOOL LICENSES**

The Athens Sailing Academy provides novice and experienced sailors with the opportunity to enhance their sailing skills. Our unique courses are structured as one-week trips, available in both private and group formats. Upon successful completion of your course, you will receive a certification for an internationally recognized skipper license. This license allows you to charter your own ‘Bareboat Yacht’ from any major yacht charter company. The ASA license is accepted worldwide, from the USA to Europe, Asia, and Australia. For more advanced sailors looking to undertake long sailing trips and deepen their sailing knowledge—such as watchkeeping and night sailing—we offer mile-building trips designed for the adventurous.

**PRIVATE TUITION**

The Athens Sailing Academy also offers private tuition options with qualified instructors. Couples can enroll in “Private” courses for a week, providing a more personalized teaching environment and the flexibility to progress at their own pace. Families are welcome to enjoy private sailing classes together, allowing parents and children, including teens, to sail while also qualifying for their Skipper’s License. Additionally, sailors who have already obtained their Skipper’s License can further advance through the higher ASA classes, up to the Coastal Skipper level.
