FAQ

You will always have a private cabin. However if you have a partner or wish to share we can make arrangements for this.

As a rule most people find them really quite easy. Nautical terminology sometimes can be confusing. The concept of sailing can sometimes take a little understanding. However our teaching method of ‘Hands on”  means you will always be associating theory with the practical aspects of the sport.

Actually the exams are quite easy. They are all multiple choice style exams. The school has a policy of allowing students all the time they need to finish the exam…NO TIME PERIOD, and you only need an 80%  to pass.

There really is no ‘SET” practical exam. It’s more of an assement by the instructor of your weekly performance through the weeks class.

Poros Island is part of the group of Greek Island know as the “Saronic Islands”. Poros Island is about 40 nautical miles south of Athens. It’s about an hour ride on the fast ferry that runs from Piraeus ferry port.

Poros is a very Cosmopolitan Island. It has a very vibrant town center with many Tavernas (restaurants), and lots of different shops. The out skirts of the town you will find all the different beach’s. You can rent Moped’s or bikes and explore the rest of the island and visit some of the smaller hamlet’s on the north of the island.

The cost of fuel for the week and food expenses. Fuel costs for the week will be between 30-70 euros. If you buy groceries for the boat to eat breakfast and lunch, expect to pay 40-60euros/ person for the week. Evening meals can vary, but a good meal with wine may run 50-60euro a person.

We have 1 price for a week at the school. The beginners class and the Advance class are all the same.

€1700 a person a week.
